She stammered in terror, the wonton that were served were no longer delicious, and every bite she put in her mouth was particularly bitter.
Dragging her heavy self back to the door of 302, Nancy looked at the house number with a pitiful look, thinking that "302" was a code for hell.
Hearing the noise outside the door, Eric curled his lips coldly, knowing that someone had come to "die".
Knocking feebly, Nancy called out dejectedly, "Ben, it's me."
The door opened quickly from inside, and Ben gave her a covert glance, and Nancy's eyes were blank and unable to receive it.
"Good morning, why did you wake up so early?" Nancy greeted the air, not daring to even glance at Eric.
She had calmed down after the operation, and now she couldn't help but feel a headache at the thought of having to face Eric.
It's not too early. I'm waiting for you. Eric's voice was still as pleasant as ever, but Nancy got goosebumps.
"Wait, wait what I'm doing," stammered, Nancy's delicate eyebrows knitted together. "Ha ha ha, you're a seriously injured patient and should rest well."
"Wasn't it you who said you were going to die? !" The half-smiling voice was finally met with Nancy's flustered and awkward glance. "I didn't say that. You misheard me."
"Are you sure? !" Seeing Nancy's quibbling, Eric pulled the corner of his mouth slightly.
"Well, sure." Nodding vigorously, Nancy silently averted her gaze.
The folder on the desk, where the record sheet was supposed to be held, has become... A handful of ashes? !
Darting over, Nancy was stunned. "Where are my things? ! Where did you get it? !"
"I'm on fire," said Eric, noticing that her face was turning pale from her panic, and frowned again. "I really shouldn't play with a human life, so I let you off the hook."
"You're really very kind!" With no tears, Nancy's heart aches.
Now, how could she explain...
Outside the window a white patch on the horizon, inside the window Nancy was stunned.
She rubbed her ears and asked in disbelief, "What did you just say?" !"
If she didn't mishear, a second earlier she wailed, and Eric quickly said, "I'll have Ben deal with it and bring back to you today's list."
Happiness came so fast that Nancy felt as if she had fallen into the clouds, so light that it seemed somewhat unreal.
She gave her a cold glance, and Eric's disdainful look seemed to say, "Look at what you're doing."
"Is it time for a woman to deal with the matter of you playing me? !" Ignoring Nancy's moved look, Eric carelessly threw a bomb to him.
Did I play tricks on you? !" Nancy rolled her eyes in her heart and decided to play dumb. "Did you throw a tantrum and roll around? !"
Giving her a cold look, Eric gave a half-smile. "You're quite good at lying, dragging me to the scene to act as a live proof for you, and you're quite bold."
With a scream, Nancy explained, "It was an accident..."
'An accident? !" Dragging the tail, Eric interrupted her, "It's okay, I can not pursue it, and I'm not going to be discharged from the hospital. From now on, I'll 'cooperate' well with you."
The understanding voice sounded like a gentle breeze, and Nancy felt relieved all over and drifted to him at once, her eyes shining like stars, "Really? !"
"Well, really." Eric smiled, a malicious smile.
Nancy froze for a moment, and that handsome face looked... How could the expression seem to be contrary to what he said? !
With a wail of pain, Nancy looked up to the sky in silence and muttered, "My future is indeed dark."
"No way." Eric's voice, magnetic and gentle.
However, Nancy shuddered and looked at him in terror. "Can you read minds? ! Why do I think you were just responding to me? ! But I said it in my heart!"
Silent lips, there was no smile in Eric's eyes.
It was Ben who smiled. "Doctor Nancy, you are so lovely. You clearly said it just now, and in a very painful voice. Don't worry. Our colonel said he would cooperate, and he will cooperate."
Hearing Ben say this, Nancy stared blankly and trembled like a cute Nancy rabbit frightened.
On second thought, she realized that Eric had clearly used a malicious tone when he said he would cooperate.
"You waited for me until now to tell me you're not leaving the hospital, are you? !" Thinking that it was "unreasonable", Nancy was so exhausted that she was on the verge of fainting that she had no mind to study any further.
Eric looked at her with a pair of eagle eyes and raised eyebrows coldly. "What do you think? !"
"I don't think so," Nancy regained her strength and sanity. "But I don't know and don't want to know why. I'm very tired now and need to go home and sleep. The hospital has approved my rest time for the whole morning. Let's meet after 2 p.m."
Having said it quickly, without giving Eric time to think or answer, Nancy quickly turned and ran away.
She was very sleepy and needed a rest.
Looking at her ghostly figure, Eric remembered her fair face with puffy eyes and dark circles.
Unconsciously pursing his lips, Eric pulled out a document from behind his pillow. "I've already signed it. You go and take the words I just taught you to memorize."
"All right," Ben took over. "Colonel, it might take me two days to come and go. Even if I rush back, it will take a day and a night. You can't be left unattended. Otherwise, I'll call Sam over by the way."
'Whatever.' Eric frowned, displeased to be reminded that he was now a "good-for-nothing" in need of care.
Ben looked at him awkwardly, not daring to say a word, when he saw the frown on Eric's handsome face and his face sank to the bottom.
After thinking for a moment, he scratched his head and said timidly, "Colonel, you've been busy all night. Go to sleep now."
With a faint "mm-hmm", Eric pulled up the quilt and sat back, closing his eyes to rest. "Remember to get the list for that woman before you leave."
"All right, I won't forget." Ben walked over and leveled the bunk bed so that Eric could sleep more comfortably.
Not long after Nancy went to help in the afternoon, a call came from the military district. There was a case that needed to go somewhere, and Eric, familiar with the terrain, asked him to draw it.
Drawing and marking, he was so busy that he worked until the morning.
As she moved out of the hospital with a heavy head, Nancy took a deep breath. The moist cold air, which was characteristic of the morning, entered her chest and immediately woke her up.
"Little girl, where are you going so early? ! Or did you play a seductive game all night with some man in the hospital? !" A man slowly approached and playfully lifted her chin with his slender fingers...
