Evander suddenly pinched the man's wrist and gave him a pretty over-the-shoulder throw with a little force.
"Um... Evander, it hurts..."
Amanda was lying on the ground in a sorry state, biting her lips lightly, with tears in her eyes, looking pitiful.
Evander reached out and pulled her up, frowning and asking, "What are you doing here?"
Rubbing her aching elbow, she said softly, "You've been back for so long and haven't visited me. Are you not allowed to come and see you?"
Evander buttoned up: "I'll take Olivia to visit my teacher some other day."
Amanda, concealing the oddness on her face, went up to help him straighten his collar but was pushed away by him.
"Amanda, I'm married."
Was he reminding her to keep her distance from him in the future? When she heard the news of his marriage from her father, her heart was pricked by a needle, and now hearing him say it himself is like adding salt to her heart.
She had sent people to investigate the woman. She was not considered very beautiful, at most pretty, but she was not much worse than her. Besides, her father was Evander's mentor and could help him in politics. Why did he choose that woman? You know she was the one who had loved him for over a decade!
With a whoosh, she suddenly pulled off her dress, revealing her fair, smooth skin.
"Evander, I love you."
Her mother used to tell her to be reserved, especially when dealing with men, to let him see the meat and keep his appetite out of it, but now she regrets it. If she had been more proactive before, perhaps Evander wouldn't have been tricked into bed by that scheming woman.
Evander suddenly pulled out the sheet and wrapped it around her, and snapped, "It's just nonsense!"
Amanda raised her eyes full of tears and sobbed, "Evander, can't you feel my sincerity towards you?" What's so good about that woman that you will marry no one but her?"
"Amanda, I've always regarded you as my junior, and even if you were naked in front of me like this, I wouldn't be disturbed at all."
There were only two women in his heart who had extraordinary places, one was his mother and the other was Olivia, and no other could arouse his interest.
Then he shouted out, "Jasper, if you let anyone in again, I'll dismiss you immediately!"
Jasper's back trembled. It seemed that Amanda had done something outrageous to anger the general.
Evander didn't look at her again and hurried out.
"Send her a dress in later."
A gossipy look appeared on Jasper's face, and as he was about to explore, Evander gave him a cold glare: "Do you think I'm the kind of casual person?"
Jasper chuckled, well, the general is only casual with the lady, and casual is not the kind of person.
…………
When Olivia returned to the manor, she was slightly surprised to see the dress Aria had prepared for her.
"This is what the general ordered me to fetch from the dress shop."
Olivia wore the white studio evening dress and looked it in the mirror. It was just right in size and elegant, making her skin look like snow and her figure graceful. Evander had a unique eye.
"The general has some business to deal with and probably won't arrive until eight o 'clock. I'll send the lady there first."
Evander had just returned home and had been awarded a first-class military merit, so she was naturally very busy. It was good that she could spare some time to accompany her home.
With a creak, the car came to a stop at the House of Bernadotte, and Freya ran out excitedly. When she saw that it was Olivia, her smile vanished immediately and she said angrily, "Why are you here? Get out of here!"
Olivia looked at her. Even though she was heavily made up and dressed up in a sexy halter top, it still couldn't hide the sallow complexion of her cheeks. She had lost a lot of weight these days, with prominent cheekbones and sunken eye sockets, looking as if she had aged ten years.
"Oh?" Are you waiting for Sterling? It seems you have no place at House of De Rossi."
Freya, with a hideous look on her face, pounced on her frantically: "It's all because of you!"
But before she could touch Olivia's hair, she was kicked away by Aria, staggering to the ground, hideous and disheveled, looking exactly like a female ghost.
At this moment Gavin came up with Lily.
As if she had seen a savior, she grabbed Gavin's trouser leg tightly, pointed at Olivia and shouted angrily, "Dad, it's this bitch who got me like this. Hit her out quickly!"
Pop! Gavin slapped her hard across the face and kicked her to the ground with his foot: "You naughty thing, don't you apologize to your sister right away?"
Lily stood by, her heart pounding and her heart aching, but she didn't dare to do anything.
Freya was stunned. She couldn't believe that it was her father, who usually doted on her, who had hit her just now.
"Dad?"
"Hurry up and apologize to the General Lady!"
She almost bit her lips until they bled, and just stared at Olivia with her eyes fixed on her, refusing to give in.
As Gavin's slap was about to fall, Olivia said indifferently, "Isn't Governor Bernadotte going to invite me in?"
It wasn't that she felt sorry for Freya, but that she was tired of this kind of tragic drama. Besides, the grudge between her and Freya wasn't going to last for a day or two, and it couldn't be resolved with just one apology.
Gavin promptly greeted her warmly, served her tea and water, and peeled her fruit, just like a loving father.
If she had not been the general's lady, she would have been greeted with a different face, and his pretentiousness made her sick.
"Is Delilah still in the West Garden? I'll go and see her."
Don't worry. As long as you say a few good words to our House of Bernadotte in front of Evander, I will treat Delilah well.
Olivia felt a chill in her heart. Delilah was his daughter and he should have treated her well, but now he had used her as a bargaining chip and was so shameless. He was truly a good father.
She didn't want to say a word more to this excellent man, and hurried towards the West Garden, which was her and Delilah's separate house, in the southeast corner of the mansion, hard to notice if not looking closely.
She walked along the bluestone towards the West Garden, and the closer she got there, the more desolate it became. The path was overgrown with weeds, and on both sides were lush paulownia trees, blooming profusely and fragrant.
Perhaps it was at this point that she truly relaxed, unable to resist closing her eyes and taking a deep breath.
Suddenly a dark shadow pounced on her, and she opened her eyes sharply, bent nimbly and stepped back quickly, but the sharp dagger still cut her cheek.
Before she could wipe the blood off her face, she kicked the man, who fell to the ground with a plop, and the dagger flew out.
The man crawled to reach for the dagger, and one foot landed hard on her hand, crushing it hard.
