Chapter 3 Call me Raymond from tomorrow on

Early the next morning, Vivian came to the House of Steven Group.

Her destiny has always been in her own hands, and Mr. John's desire for her to be a stepping stone for the family to expand its power is simply a fantasy!

Vivian's face was reflected in the car window, her eyes bright and clear, with an unwavering determination.

The House of Steven group is full of people coming and going, but Vivian is still the most dazzling one. As soon as she stepped into the hall, people kept looking at her.

It was an ice beauty with a cold face and a label that kept strangers at bay. It made many eager male employees tactfully refrain from approaching.

Vivian explained the situation to the front desk. The receptionist looked at her in surprise and called upstairs to the secretariat.

"Miss Vivian, the president is available at the moment. Please go up."

"Thank you."

Vivian took a deep breath as she watched the elevator keep going up.

She had been favored by her grandfather as the general manager of the House of Johnson Group and had dealt with the House of Steven Group before, but had never had a direct encounter with Raymond.

Raymond, chairman and president of the House of Steven Group, a handsome, wealthy and outstanding man.

Perhaps because he drove his own father out of the house six years ago, he died of hunger and cold without even taking a look.

Perhaps it was because he was ruthless and inhumane both at home and abroad.

In short, all kinds of rumors have deterred countless socialites and daughters, and that's why he's nearly thirty and still single.

Besides, she knew very little about Raymond and just hoped that it wouldn't be too difficult for her to handle.

She had no way out.

After the elevator opened, Vivian, guided by her secretary, went straight to the president's office and politely knocked on the door.

"Come in."

A cold, icy voice came through the door, and Vivian's heart gave an inexplicable jolt. Her fingers, painted bright red, tightened the file folder in her hand subconsciously.

Pushing the door open, a strikingly handsome face came into view.

Thick, flat eyebrows, deep eyes, a straight nose bridge, and sensual, thin lips.

He leaned back in the sofa chair and looked at her lazily, but his cold eyes were fixed on Vivian, making her feel as if she had fallen into an ice cave.

Vivian straightened her back to make herself look more confident.

"Hello, Mr.Steven. I'm Vivian."

Raymond did not reply. He just looked at her coldly, making Vivian feel like a commodity waiting for a price.

As if a chill had crept into her body from the soles of her feet, Vivian composed herself and said, "I'm sorry to disturb you today to talk to you, Mr.Steven, about our marriage."

Vivian laid out the documents in front of Raymond, "The marriage of House of Johnson and House of Steven, I will be chosen. Surely Mr.Steven doesn't want to marry a stranger and regret it in the end, does he? So I'm here to ask for an opportunity to work with you."

Vivian kept her stance very low because she knew she had no confidence at all to negotiate with Raymond except as "future wife".

"Marriage?"

The slender fingers tapped the table lightly, but landed on Vivian's heart like a rock.

It seems there's something wrong?

"House of Johnson." With endless contempt.

Vivian's face turned pale all of a sudden, and she realized that this trip was nothing but self-humiliation.

It turned out that the so-called marriage was just Mr. John's wishful thinking, and Raymond had not made a decision at all!

John is really unreliable!

There was a moment when Vivian wanted to flee in a panic. But her pride wouldn't allow it, and she could only stand up and try to smile to Raymond:

"I once heard Grandpa talk about you, saying that you are a very good businessman who always knows what to do." Vivian was organizing her thoughts, weighing each word carefully.

"The House of Steven group has developed rapidly under your leadership over the years, reversing the decline of the previous owner and becoming a leading group in Frances City and even the whole country, which has amazed countless people. Starting a family and establishing a career, you have accomplished the latter, presumably a harmonious family is more conducive to shaping your mature and steady image as the leader of the group."

Vivian was so absorbed in her choice of words that she overlooked the slight fading of Raymond's originally cold and impatient expression.

"What good will it do me to marry you?"

Raymond's deep eyes were unfathomable as he looked straight at Vivian. "I never do business at a loss. As long as I can have children, it makes no difference to me who I marry. But House of Johnson is not important enough for me to give up my own marriage."

Vivian tried to calm herself down and, with the same spirit she usually had when facing business rivals with her grandfather, stared intently at Raymond:

"Marry a virtuous wife, Mr.Steven surely doesn't want to marry a wife who will hold him back, does he? A marriage that doesn't live up to its name, a sensible wife and mother, I think that's exactly what you need."

Saying this, Vivian smoothed out the documents she had just clutched subconsciously and handed them back to Raymond.

"Here is my idea, please take a look. "

Raymond's seductive lips curved, her face no longer so stiff and cold, and a hint of admiration flashed across her eyes - no wonder she was the granddaughter most valued by Mr.Johnson.

Vivian guessed it right. He's getting old and it's time for him to have a child. As for who the child's mother is... That doesn't matter.

At least the woman in front of him knows what he needs.

Not an idiot.

Long fingers, flipping through the documents, Raymond's brows slightly raised.

"Three rules?" It's interesting.

Vivian swallowed nervously and said in a steady tone, "You and I are both businessmen, of course we have to follow the rules. Rest assured, I will do my best to help you avoid all unnecessary troubles and build a perfect image for you as agreed." This is the best way she can think of to protect herself.

As time passed, Vivian's heart tightened more and more.

She had no confidence in this negotiation.

Fortunately...

"Call me Raymond from tomorrow."

Raymond looked at the woman who dared to negotiate terms with him in a good mood

No one knew what Vivian had talked about with Raymond, but shortly after John received the notice that Raymond had agreed to marry him, he was overjoyed and even praised Vivian in front of Sophia and Nicole:

"House of Johnson's rise is just around the corner, Vivian, you are truly my good daughter!"

"Dad, am I not your good daughter?" Nicole coquettedly took John's arm and pushed Vivian away imperceptibly.

"Of course you're my good daughter too. Didn't you say you wanted a Ferrari yesterday? Today I'll have the secretary bring it to you."

"Dad, you are the best dad in the world!"

Vivian watched the fatherly kindness and motherly filial piety with cold eyes, then turned around and went upstairs expressionlessly.
