As soon as John left the House of Steven building, he asked the driver to take him to the House of Steven.
Since Raymond couldn't break through here, he had to take a roundabout way and go to Vivian.
After all, she has a knack for dealing with Vivian.
Because of Raymond's words in the morning, Vivian's thoughts that had just begun to stir were instantly brought back to square one.
Looking back, she felt that she had been overly sentimental, bitter and resentful.
John came at a time when Vivian was in her worst mood, and he was stopped by the security guard at the door before he could even enter House of Steven's compound.
"Sorry, Madam ordered no visitors today."
John had just been frustrated by Raymond, and now seeing the security guard so presumptuous as to challenge him, he couldn't help but curse:
"Did you blind your dog's eyes?" Don't you know who I am? I'm your wife's father, but get out of here."
The security guard was startled, but still acted in a businesslike manner and repeated it again.
"I'm sorry, Madam instructed not to see guests today."
"Am I a guest? I'm her father." He said haughtily, "When I see Vivian, I'll make sure she fires this short-sighted security guard."
For a moment the security guard didn't know what to do. Just as he was about to call the butler to ask for permission, Vivian's Maserati stopped at the door.
John didn't recognize Vivian's car for a moment until she rolled down the window.
As soon as he saw Vivian, John pretended to be a loving father and said, "Vivian, Dad has come to see you."
Vivian had already seen John's car and was already in a bad mood, and this made her even more frustrated.
She completely ignored John, who was approaching her. Without hesitation, she stepped on the accelerator all the way down and sped off with a whoosh, leaving John with a mouthful of exhaust fumes.
John would never have thought that damn brat would be so shameless and show no mercy to him. He kicked the tyre hard and the wheel was fine, but he sprained his own foot instead.
The security guard couldn't hold back his laughter when he saw John in such a sorry state.
John, hearing the laughter, glared at him angrily and said, "What are you laughing at? You'll have a good time next time!" He knew he had lost face, so he turned around angrily to get into the car and let the driver drive home.
All the way, John was thinking about what to do to make Raymond or Vivian change her mind. He never gave up easily. He sacrificed a daughter for this project. How could he let it go?
How could John, who had been angry twice in the morning, have a good look on his face when he saw that lunch was not yet ready and heard Sophia and Nicole whispering in the bedroom?
"Come to the study!"
John shouted into the room and walked with a sullen face towards the study.
Sophia was applying ointment on Nicole's face and muttering:
Nicole, don't be angry. We will surely repay that naughty girl twice as much for this grievance in the future. Your father hit you in a fit of anger, so don't get angry with him. He will surely come to comfort you, and then you'll have to give him a way out, you know?"
Nicole pouted because she had been slapped and still held a grudge.
"Vivian! I must make her look good."
"Are you listening to me? You should know that your father is the head of the family. You must be sensible now and please him so that he can give you the right of succession sooner. Then the whole House of Johnson will be yours, and it won't be a matter of a word if you want to bully Vivian."
Sophia was so frustrated that her daughter didn't carry on her talent.
"Got it. I'll take everything that belongs to Vivian one by one."
Seeing her daughter's ambitious look, Sophia couldn't help but have a headache. But seeing the red marks on her face, she couldn't bear to say anything.
Suddenly hearing John's voice full of rage, Sophia had a bad premonition in her mind, but Nicole, naively thinking that her father was going to give in to her, raised the corners of her mouth haughtily and wondered what good to get to heal her wounded heart.
John sat in the study, his eyes dim and unclear.
It wasn't long before Sophia came in with Nicole, delicate and gentle.
"Kneel down!" John saw them and shouted coldly.
Nicole looked at her father in terror, which was completely different from what she had expected! Sophia, on the other hand, was the first to realize something was wrong. Her mind raced and she thought about how to deal with it.
"I spoke and didn't hear you, did you? Hurry up and kneel down to me."
John was even more furious when he saw that neither Sophia nor Nicole had moved.
Nicole was so frightened by John that she had no time to retort and cry, her legs gave way and she fell to her knees.
Sophia gave her daughter a heart-wrenching look and, too, fell to her knees.
It's all your fault! If you hadn't bullied Vivian yesterday, how could Raymond have let me quit the project? From today on, you two are not allowed to go out for a month. Just stay at home and reflect on your mistakes.
John snapped, and just as Sophia was about to speak and beg for mercy, he gave them a fierce look, picked up his phone and left the study decisively.
Five minutes later, Raymond received a video on his phone.
John's scolding of Sophia and Nicole, as well as the mother and daughter kneeling on the ground in a sorry state, were all recorded clearly.
"Mr.Steven, I've dealt with the household affairs. Now you must be satisfied, right?" John's call followed.
"Really? That really bothers you." Raymond said with a half-smile, tapping the table with his fingers in admiration of John's flexibility.
John, as soon as he heard it was interesting, immediately climbed up the pole.
"Mr.Steven, shall I go to your company right now to talk about the cooperation?"
As he spoke, John was secretly annoyed in his heart. He was annoyed by Raymond's insincerity, after all, he was his father-in-law! Even if Vivian is not favored, she must be much more approachable than anyone else, right?
However, his anger was of no use.
Raymond had no interest in House of Johnson's household affairs in his heart; otherwise, for Vivian's sake, he wouldn't have the leisure to get involved.
There was no time to see John at the moment, and he said perfunctorily; "Tomorrow, I have something to do now."
John only cared if he could see Raymond, it didn't matter which day, and hurriedly replied, "All right, all right, then you go ahead and I'll come to the office to see you tomorrow."
