Chapter 23 This Misfortune? I feel lucky

"You're back." When Henry saw Bailey, he stood up and walked over. He took her by the hand and introduced her solemnly.

"This is General Lance of the Ministry of Industry, his wife and their daughter Hazel."

Oh, that's a family of three, and they're high-ranking government officials. Bailey greeted the three of them politely.

"Who is this one?" Mrs.Hazel looked at Lynn in puzzlement.

The woman standing beside Henry was young, beautiful, and very intimate with him. There was a cloud in Mrs.Hazel's mind.

The purpose of the three of them coming to House of Morris today was not just to have a meal, but more importantly to arrange a marriage between Hazel and Henry.

Her daughter has a little health problem, and her legs are of different lengths. The family has had a lot of worries about her marriage. Later, when the daughter attended an eight-minute matchmaking event in the military camp, she fell in love with a handsome officer named Henry. At first, the family thought Hazel was not a good match for Henry, but after some inquiry, they found out that Henry was in poor health and sometimes had to use a wheelchair to move.

What's even more remarkable is that the two families are of similar social status.

So Lance took the initiative to ask Harold for a kinship to introduce Hazel to Henry.

Now at this family dinner, I'm thinking of having my daughter perform well so that she can fall in love with Henry at first sight. But the current situation seems rather odd.

"This is Bailey, my girlfriend." Henry generously introduced Bailey's identity.

Harold was silent, his face gloomy. Lance was taken aback by the family of three, especially Hazel, who nearly knocked over the stool beside him.

There was a suffocating silence in the otherwise friendly living room.

"It was our Henry who did a good job of keeping it a secret. Harold and I didn't know about his girlfriend beforehand, and we just found out today." Lynn managed to explain, at least disregarding her and Harold's responsibility.

"What international joke are you making!" General Lance, though thin, has a bad temper. He slammed the cup in front of him hard onto the table and questioned Harold.

Harold remained silent.

What could he say? This play was clearly set up by his son. He was deliberately going against him to break his promise and lose face.

The son has never forgiven him, and he has always held a grudge against his mother.

"General Lance, don't do that. Let's talk nicely." Lynn stood up, trying to salvage the situation.

There's nothing more to say. We are superfluous people here. General Lance motioned for his wife and daughter to go with him.

Mrs.Hazel looked at Lynn awkwardly, got up helplessly and pulled her daughter along.

But Hazel did not go with her parents. She still sat in her seat, looking fixedly at Bailey and said, "I remember, I did see you."

The woman showed up at that eight-minute matchmaking event.

She seemed to be called Bailey, and one of her blind dates had mentioned that she was tough and had beaten four fiances in a row. It caused so much commotion at the event that none of the male guests showed up in front of her.

Later, Henry showed up and chatted with her for a full eight minutes, helping her out of the predicament.

It was during that time that Hazel met Henry for the first time and was deeply attracted to him. Later, she mustered up the courage to have an eight-minute get-together with Henry, but Henry left early and they missed the chance.

The news of the four men was like a bombshell, shocking everyone in the living room.

"Mr.Morris, congratulations on your son finding such a perfect girlfriend. I hope your son will get married soon and live a long life." General Lance is now full of energy and retorts to Harold. Just now he was about to slunk away, but now he doesn't want to leave.

The good show has just begun and there's no need to spend money. Who else wouldn't watch it?

"doom! Oh my goodness, Keith, you really should go to Pray to God. Fortunately, you broke up with Bailey. Otherwise, the grass at the grave would be three feet high now."

Paula, having bandaged her wound, turned back to the living room and, as soon as she entered, heard Hazel's explosive news and immediately responded to Bailey.

"Bailey, tell us exactly how your four fiances have been ruined."

Paula sat down in the spot just now in a high-profile and exaggerated manner, with an air of being in line with Bailey and making a fuss.

This is being isolated.

Bailey did not expect that the matter of the doom, like a haunting ghost, had been following her all along, waiting for an opportunity to attack her.

But at this point, there was no way to avoid it.

"There are those who have been injured in car accidents, those who have lost money in business, and those who have fallen in love with ladyboys." Bailey said calmly.

A vicious laugh came out of Paula's mouth, and General Lance, though not laughing, couldn't hide his taunts and cast them in his eyes.

"Are you unlucky? It feels lucky to me. If those four times you were married, how could I have had the chance to meet you?" Henry looked at Bailey and said with a smile.

Bailey was really touched at that moment. Whether Henry was just putting on an act or being sincere, at least she felt relieved to have a man who could talk to Bailey like that.

The hard words were like a huge rock, weighing her and Tessa down.

"Big brother, there are some things that can only be proven by time. Of course you feel lucky now, but I'm afraid you'll feel unlucky later." Paula's words sounded more like a curse than an exhortation.

"It's already great to be lucky now." Henry pouted under the table, indicating Paula's injury on her foot. "Some people are already unlucky enough, aren't they?"

Paula's mouth was blocked tightly by Henry. She glared in anger and grabbed the plate in front of her. "Paula, stop joking with the big brother. There are guests here." Lynn knew that her daughter was about to throw things around again. So, hurry up and speak to her daughter.

Paula glanced at General Lance's family of three and then slowly loosened her grip on the plate.

But at that moment, Mayor Lance spoke.
